Manila, Philippines, August 21, 2021: Insightful, advice, and self-competent becomes the trajectory of JA Philippines’ EDGE 2021 as it welcomes the last theme of its event – Career Edge. The event hosted by Gianne Hinolan and Neo Rivera started with a recap from the previous happenings during EDGE 2021’s first- and second-day virtual event, facilitated via JA Philippines’ official Facebook page. Maziar Sabet, CEO of JA Asia Pacific, gave the opening remarks to officially welcome the last day of EDGE 2021. Sabet gave valuable pointers about moving forward with one’s career opportunities. He emphasized “doing what you like” as a powerful motivation in finding the direction in life – the edge.

Afterward, the event geared up to its next agenda, which is a panel discussion spearheaded by four especial guests – Hector Angeles, CEO of MAD Elephant, Dennis Velasco, CEO of Prosperna, Calel Gosingtian, CEO of Waters Philippines Inc., and Brent Reodica, the Founder of Team Aguhon.

The program aims to encourage and assist students in their ideal careers. These panelists would provide notable “career cheat codes” to attain the relevant steps, the kind of career one should be stepping on, and advice to and not to follow for less confusion and more assertion in what you desire for your ideal career. Questions were circulated to the panelists that were arranged by the participants to understand their career success stories better and the influential impact they’ve experienced when choosing their life and career goals and achievements. The most interesting comment or advice obtained from the roundtable discussion is that “the choice always lies in you because nobody understands yourself better than you.” These panelists told the participants the power of not giving up and living up to one’s passion which led them to opportunities that changed the course of their life and career for the better.

Transformation is about meeting in the middle lane with the people around them and themselves that drives them to pursue the objectives and goals of their mission and vision of their purpose in the marketing industry.

The virtual event also invited singer-songwriter Janine Teñoso to sing her latest song titled “Pelikula” before giving the stage to their keynote speaker, Bianca Gonzales, a television host, a writer, and a co-founder of She Talks Asia, to talk about career advancement.

Keynote speaker Bianca Gonzales encouraged the participants to assess their core values to identify and understand themselves better as a person and what they plan to do with their career and future. Her talk points include a career as a marathon than a race, rejection as a stepping stone and should not be considered as a failure, and hard work and discipline as an important driver to motivate and inspire on continuing to complete the work. These pointers are the structure of one’s career journey to keep running and stay in the long haul. She also talked about the importance of soft skills which contributes greatly to keep your foot in the door.

The last virtual episode of EDGE 2021 includes an introduction about the JA Worldwide Alumni Association including the amazing perks when participants decided to join and be a part of the JA community.

Reminders were handed out about the certification exam on Registered Marketing Professional and Registered Business Professional.
